Introduction.
For many years, a number of the descendants of James Hepburn and Mary (nee Gillies) of Fort Augustus, Inverness, Scotland, have been researching the history of the Hepburn family both in Scotland and Australia. A family reunion was held at Strangways near Castlemaine, Victoria, in 1992 at which members from all branches of the family were represented.
