NEW MUSIC…Deux Marches. By Lindsay Sloper. Goddard and Co.- The name of so excellent a pianist and composer for the pianoforte as Mr Lindsay Sloper is a guarantee as to the quality of the pieces before us, one of them a Marche d'Adieu, the other Marche da Retour. Both are written in a brilliant, effective style, and will make capital solos for the drawing-room. They are not beyond the capacities of clever amateurs. (The Era, Sunday, 7 April 1878)

NEW MUSIC…MISCELLANEOUS - Of "Deux Marches pour Piano," No. 2, "Marche de Retour," is far preferable to No. 1, "Marche d'Adieu;" both are by Lindsay Sloper, but neither will add to the fame of their composer (Messrs. Goddard and Co.). (Graphic, Saturday, 20 April 1878)
