Musical Works - Woo 10.
Words by: George Linley
'Neath thy lattice bright,
I am waiting now for thee
While floats my gallant bark
On the smooth and tranquil sea;
The fair and radiant moon
Looks mildly from on high,
And stars like diamonds bright
Shine out in the deep blue sky.
One look before I go,
One word ere I depart,
To gladden my fond heart.
Wake thee Lady mine!
My bark is on the sea,
And long ere morning smile,
I must wander far from thee.
Then, Lady, wake!
Wake and smile on me,
Then, Lady, wake Ah! Lady!
wake, and smile on me.
Gaily springs the breeze,
To waft us on our way,
And soon with falcon's flight,
We shall speed thro' the foaming spray;
In islands bright and fair,
Beyond the flowing main,
Oh! many a goodly prize
This arm for thee shall gain.
But hark! the signal calls,
The bugle note I hear!
I must not linger here.
Haste thee Lady mine!
My bark is on the sea,
And long ere morning smile
I must wander far from thee.
Then, Lady, wake!
Wake and smile on me,
Then, Lady, wake. Ah! Lady
wake and smile on me.
