Musical Works - Woo 2.
Words by: J.P. Douglas
I saw in a dream at midnight,
A garden bright and fair;
And the white robed angels watching
The blossoms shining there.
Their voices arose in chorus
On Zephyrs borne along,
'Till each flower and fruit re-echoed
The burden of their song.
Ah! oft in the gloom and shadow
That fills my heart with care,
Comes back in a glorious vision
That garden bright and fair;
And I see the angels watching
The blossoms at their feet;
And I hear their voices mingle
In union calm and sweet.
They sing of the little children
Who pass from earth away,
Safe now in their Father's keeping,
They live and bloom for aye!
They live and bloom for aye!
They live and bloom for aye!
O these are the little children
Who pass'd from earth away;
Safe here in my Father's keeping
They live and bloom for aye!
