ISACT Membership Rules

  • Membership is due and payable for each financial by 30 June of that financial year. For example, the membership fee for the 2005/2006 financial year is payable by 30 June 2006. If you are not a member by 30 June 2006 you will not be able to vote in the election of the Committee due to be held in August 2006.

  • The membership fee is $5.00 for concession and $10.00 for those in employment.

  • You pay the membership fee to the Secretary of ISACT and get a receipt on the spot to ensure that it will be processed in the correct manner.

  • When you are applying as a new member (including where your membership has expired without renewal in the last financial year) you need to present an application form and the membership fee to the Secretary. The Secretary will then present your application to the Committee of ISACT to decide whether to accept you as a member or not. If you are not accepted as a member, you will receive a notice and a refund. If you are accepted as a member, you will be entered in the members list. See sections 4 & 5 of the Consitution.

  • During the year, keep note of notices after Jummaa announcing the fact that ISACT will be accepting renewal fees and new applications outside the Mosque after prayers. During such signups, the Secretary will be in attendance and supervising other helpers who will also be authorised to issue receipts.

  • Do not hand over any money to anyone without getting a receipt. Do not hand over an application form to anyone other than the Secretary. This will stop the practice of electioneering where someone attempts to buy your vote by paying for your membership fee.

  • The application form is at the end of the Constitution.

  • When you attend any ISACT election or general meeting, you must bring your Passport for identification purposes.
