Rev. P. J. Edwards received word from the Defence Department asking him to convey the sad news to Mrs Paget of Baddaginnie that her nephew, Pte. E. C. Paget who was previously reported wounded, had succumbed to his injuries. Pte. Paget, who was a native of Violet Town, enlisted over two years ago from New Zealand. His brother, Pte. Les. Paget was killed in France about a fortnight previously.".
