1 Newspaper article, The Courier-Mail (Brisbane, Qld. : 1933 - 1954) Thursday 22 November 1934. WEDDINGS Clelland - Virgen Holy Trinity Church, Valley, was chosen for the marriage of Miss Phyllis Beth Virgen (youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Virgen, Nundah) and Mr. Malcolm Fleming Clelland (twin son of Mrs. M. Clelland and the late Mr. Clelland), on November 17. The Rev. S. Watkin officiated, and Miss Jean Clelland sang a solo. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a trained gown of Chantilly lace, with long, tight sleeves and a veil of tulle, held with a circlet of orange blos soms. She carried a shower bouquet. Miss D. Gillon, as bridesmaid, wore a frock of green chalky crepe, moulded to the knee, and falling to a short train The hemline was knife-pleated, and she wore a cap to tone. Her bouquet was of red roses and carna tions. Mr. Wallace Clelland (twin brother of groom) acted as best man. A reception was held at the Jenolan Cafe, where Mrs. Virgin [sic] received her guests wearing a frock of salmon pink flat crepe and a hat to match. The bridegroom's mother wore a hat to match her ice blue frock trimmed with kiltings. On leaving for the honey moon, which is being spent at Yaamba, the bride wore striped blue and white crepe de Chine, with- a windswept blue swagger coat, and a small matching hat.
