According to Peg's diary, Aunt Gert passed away in the afternoon of 26th 1940. Archie went to spend the night with Gordon.

Sheila said her mother had heart trouble brought on by rheumatic fever and was only physically active in the early part of Sheila's life. She used to write to people. "My mother lived with her damaged heart gradually worsening until age 54"
