AmeriCon 2004 is a one day, 4 round DBM competition for 200AP armies from the pre-Columbian Americas. Armies are 200AP using the restrictions laid out in the Irish DBM200 game. The rules will be straight DBM v3 except a modified terrain system. Players must provide their own terrain. Figures should be painted and appropriate to the army. Because there are limited ranges of these figures available, some considerations will be made;
There are a small number of armies available for loan. Contact me as soon as you can if you wish to use one of these. They will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. You may get little choice of troop types in the loan armies.
The venue is the Southwell Scout Hall in Burkitt Street, Page, ACT. Tea and coffee will be provided, with soft drinks for sale. The scouts will hold a sausage sizzle at lunchtime. Accommodation can be had at the Belconnen Hotel Motel which is close.
There will be four rounds of 1.5 hours. The draw will be modified Swiss Chess. Opponents will be paired by historical enemies in the first round. In subsequent rounds, opponents will be paired by closest points, then historical enemies, then random.
There will be small trophies for First, Second and Third place. Small event prizes will be drawn during the rounds. Depending on sponsorship, there may be a larger prize that will be drawn at the end of the competition. Entry fees and money raised from food and drik are donated to the Southwell Scout group
