Forum of Christian Military Ministries

This forum was established in 2002 on the initiative of Russell and Helen Bielenberg of ACCTS following the example of their HQ in Denver, USA, to encourage understanding, to promote cooperation and mutual support and to enrich and optimise the ministry of each Christian organisation with a ministry to the Australian Defence Force. Those represented were ACCTS, MCF of Australia, Fighting Words Ministries, Red Shield Defence Services, The Australian Navigators and Everyman's Welfare Service. At this meeting a representative from each organisation described their ministry including such matters as mission, vision, their focus of ministry and ministry issues such as problems being confronted. We prayed for each other in turn, and discussed how we might better support one another's ministry. At the conclusion of the meeting a representative of each organisation signed the following covenant:

Recognising that wherever two or three of us are together at one location Jesus Christ is among us, we covenant to:

Signing of the FCMM covenant at the inaugural meeting in November 2002

Following the success of the forum in 2002, we met again in 2003, this time to review the operation of the covenant and to examine the impact of post-modernism on our ministries and to discuss ministry to other ranks.
