Education:
1954-1957 Wynnum State High School, Brisbane.

1958-1961 Royal Military College, Duntroon, during which time I gained credit for two years of civil engineering.

1962-1963 University of Queensland, Australia. to complete my civil engineering degree.

1969-1970 Five terms full time at Moore Theological College, Sydney.

1970 (third term) - 1972 Part time at St Mark's Institute of Theology to complete ThL.

1978-1979 Spanish at two technical colleges in Perth.

1987 Spanish 3,4,5,6 at CCAE (Obtained Distinctions and High Distinctions). Pastoral Ministry II at St Mark's, Canberra.

1988 Spanish B at CCAE. Completed Basic Unit in Clinical Pastoral Education.

1993 Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) (physically at the University of Canberra, but under the auspices of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science).

Experience:

I have been a contract interpreter for what is now the Department of Immigration, Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs since 1990, and contract interpreter and translator for Centrelink since February 2000.

In 1992 I had a temporary position for six weeks with the ACT Department of Health as a health care interpreter.

In 2000 I did health care interpreting via the telephone for the Sydney Olympics.

I am accredited with the Illawarra Health Care Interpreting Service.

I have undertaken consecutive and dialogue interpreting at conferences of churches and military Christians.

Examples of the types of documents I have translated are: legal documents related to overseas adoption and divorce, driver's licences, birth certificates, marriage certificates, academic records and certificates, financial documents relating to pensions, samples of a book on climate, a major engineering consultancy contract between a Latin American government and consultant, and documents related to Christians serving in the military.

I am a Member of AUSIT, the Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators Incorporated.
