This challenge was to replace a head of one of the characters and create a title to make it look like a book.

I choose to replace the character on the right because she depicts herself to be evil and in the dark, a suspicious character who influences other characters, like the devil. I believe that suspicion creates interest in design which leads to exploration by the viewer.

Using a 3 mega-pixel camera (which is good enough for this exercise) I took a photo of my head. To reduce the amount of photo editing time I placed a light in the correct position to mimic the lady is the centre of the picture as much as possible. Then in Photoshop I used white balance to (show the whites as whites) but this was not useful because the whites of the actually image are more yellowish, so adjusted accordingly.

Some improvements looking back, I could have set the head back into the hood/hat a bit further because it looks awkward like the hat is about to fall off. When taking my photo I shouldn't have taken it directly on the side (so you can only see one side of the face). This would give it more dimension. Possible a touch too much green when adjusting the colours (could just be my monitor though).
