Come and join us if you are a young person looking to get together with other young people or an adult who wants to support the young people in our group.

All About Antioch
Curious about who and what we are? Then, keep reading...
We are a parish-based ministry run by youth for youth. We are aimed at young people from high school age (14 or 15) to mid 20’s.
Antioch is a community where young people can come together and be themselves without the pressures of the outside world.
It offers a way for young people to develop a love of Jesus and His Church through an experience of community -a community where you are always welcome and where you can find a relevant and supportive environment.
Antioch takes it name from one of the first known Christian communities.
"It was at Antioch that the believers were first called Christians"(Acts 11:26).
Antioch gives you an opportunity to:
  • discover your own basic goodness
  • recognise the unconditional love of Christ as a model for your own life
  • feel the strength of belonging to a Christian community
  • make a commitment to follow Christ and grow closer to Him

Our group is part of a wider movement around Australia and overseas. The Antioch movement started in the USA. Since coming to Sydney in 1981 it has spread to all states in Australia. Antioch is also present in New Zealand, Fiji, the Philippines, New Guinea, Indonesia, Hungary and Singapore.
What Does Antioch Do?
We get together each week, on a Sunday night for a couple of hours.
Through regular gathering, the young people in our group seek to learn for themselves how they can live as effective members of the Body of Christ and to grow in their personal relationship with the Lord and with one another.
Our gathering usually consists of music, shared prayer, talks, share groups, and fellowship. It is run by the youth themselves, with adult support.

Building on our weekly get togethers, we also arrange mid-week and other social activities.

Rock or Rose?
Our 2 main symbols are a rock and a rose. Young people decide if they will be like the rock which is hard, cold and never changing, or a rose which lives and can grow into a thing of beauty and gives joy to many.
