A web and mobile Intel XDK app for gallery evaluation.
This app shows a background image over which lines can be drawn to indicate the tracks made by visitors in an exhibition. With enough of these tracks, an indication of which exhibits are popular and how visitor traffic naturally flows can be determined.
As a web app, open the index.html with either firefox or chrome browsers. The web app is only partially functional on IE.
As a mobile app, the files and directories in www.zip would be placed in the www directory of an Intel XDK project and the cordova File and FullScreen plugins added before building to your chosen device. Only the Android build has been tested. It was seen to be fully functional on Android 5+ but I failed to get external storage to work on an Android 4.1 which is probably because the oroginal Motorola Xooms did support an SD card. See my blog on starting with the Intel XDK.
This version includes help pages. Click on the life buoy Icon in the middle of the bottom toolbar.
Both web and mobile apps export data in the form of SVG XML format text. Most browsers will interpret this data as a vertor graphic and show the trace lines only. Refer to the in program help for further details.
Analysis of the data by external programs can be used to generate heat and direction maps such as these:
